The Lungau Valley
The idyllic setting and stunning mountain landscape of the Lungau Valley provide the perfect environment for outdoor adventures, offering year-round sporting activities for active holidaymakers as well as many attractions for those who prefer a more relaxed vacation.

Cycling / Mountain Biking
Between April and October, enthusiasts can enjoy a varied network of mountain bike trails, cycling paths and e-bike tours, with gradients ranging from family-friendly to much more challenging routes. Lungau Electrodrive has made even the steeper routes more accessible, and thanks to a network of charging stations throughout the valley, touring by e-bike has never been easier.

Hiking
Lungau is a very popular destination for hikers, with hundreds of kilometres of well-marked trails, more than 60 beautiful mountain lakes to visit, as well as guided tours and themed excursions. Routes vary in difficulty from gentle walks to more adventurous mountain hikes. The Lungau website provides an excellent overview of all major hiking trails, including information on altitude, elevation gain, length and difficulty level.

Nordic Walking
Nordic walking is a year-round attraction in the valley, with 10 selected and precisely measured NATURE FITNESS PARK® routes. In nearby Mariapfarr, you will also find the largest certified network of Nordic walking trails. Partner businesses throughout the region offer certified training sessions and expert advice. Nordic walking poles can be rented from local sports shops.

Swimming
At the heated outdoor pool in St. Michael, you can relax in the warm summer sunshine, play mini-golf or table tennis, and enjoy the peaceful and idyllic surroundings. For indoor swimming, BadeInsel is the place to go, offering several pools including a heated outdoor pool, various saunas, wellness areas and water slides for children.

Children’s Activities
Energetic children of all ages can enjoy organised pony rides or horse riding, quad biking, water tubing, trampolines, fun parks and activity centres, treetop adventure parks, wildlife parks, tennis, climbing, rafting and canoeing, paragliding and much, much more.

Culture
The town of St. Michael and the Lungau Valley are rich in history and culture, offering many sights and attractions. Nearby historical highlights include Moosham Castle and the pilgrimage church of St. Leonhard. Haus Bellevue is also ideally located for day trips to the Werfen Ice Caves, the famous Hohenwerfen Castle, Hellbrunn Zoo, the Sound of Music Tour, and of course the city of Salzburg.
