Transfers, Taxi and Public Transport
It is remarkably easy to get around Austria using public transport with connections from every major airport to the cities bus and train stations. If you fly into Salzburg for example, there is a bus service that runs every 10-20 minutes taking passengers directly to Salzburg central train station and bus depot.
Transfers and taxi services are further travel options. Private taxis can be booked at any time of the year and although the main collection points are from the nearer airports and train stations, most firms will provide an offer for taxi services to locations further afield. Of the two major firms in the Lungau, Lungau Taxi offer a winter Airport or Train shuttle connection from Salzburg. This type of collection and transport service must be booked in advance and is only available during the high winter season on a Saturday
Bus and Train Travel
The European train and bus network is extensive and can be an inexpensive and relaxing way to travel. The bus services tend to be more direct allowing for fewer connections and changes, however the combination of bus and train can provide a fun and varied travel experience.
One of the many route options would be to travel to the main train and bus station in Salzburg, and from there to either Radstadt or Bischofshofen by train, then catch a bus connection or a further train to Unzmarkt and on to Tamsweg which is approximately 14km from St Michael and Haus Bellevue. From Tamsweg it is very easy to catch a local bus to within minutes walk of the property.
