Ski Touring and Freeriding
The seven sided Lungau valley with it’s broad selection of mountain and high peak tours at alpine elevations over 1200m makes the region a paradise for ski tourers and freeriders.
Ski touring is all about freedom; getting away from better known areas in to the winter landscape where you can enjoy the tranquility of the beautiful mountain ranges and make fresh tracks in deep snow. The ascent can be strenuous but the exhilarating ride down untouched hillsides is well worth the effort.
Not for beginner skiers before attempting ski touring and it is necessary to first be an accomplished skier or snowboarder and in good physical health. Avalanches are a very real concern for ski tourers and the sport should only be undertaken with the correct equipment. If you have never attempted ski touring before it is advisable to hire a guide or an instructor.
