WEATHER INFORMATION

For Snow and Piste Reports Click HERE

The Lungau enjoys four very definite and beautiful seasons.  In spring you can expect mild days and pleasantly cool evenings.  The summer months are generally hot but without the closeness often experienced in areas with high temperatures.  The days remain warm and sunny for the Autumn harvests and in winter the valley is a veritable white winter wonderland.

The weather conditions can vary greatly across the expanse of the valley and the natural bowl created by the mountain peaks has a large impact on the behaviour of weather fronts.

The following weather forecast for St Michael comes from SnowForecast.com and reflects conditions high in the valley at an altitude of 1805m.  It is not the most accurate weather-picture but provides a good at-a-glance impression of what to expect on the day.

The most accurate weather forecasts come from ZMAG who are THE weather people in Austria.  We particularly like the Bergfex website who display ZMAG weather reports both in the valley and on the mountain peak.  Click on the buttons below to view the weather in each region.
