The Mountains of the LungauTHE LUNGAU and SANKT MICHAEL

The idyllic Lungau valley can be found in the southernmost region of Salzburg, on the north border of Carinthea.  It's central location ensures the area is easily accessible from all directions and within reach of many further attractions, day trips and sight seeing opportunities throughout Austria.

Hot and green from Spring through Autumn and wonderfully cold and white in winter, the Lungau is a very popular year-round holiday destination.  The beautiful mountainous landscape is wide and varied providing an ideal location for pursuing any number of outdoor leisurely or sporting activities, whilst the valleys rich history and culture is of equal appeal.

There are many reasons to visit this wonderful area, however one of it's most attractive qualities is that the Region is developing at a natural pace and so far, resists the mass tourism that has enveloped so many other popular holiday destinations in Austria.
