Winter Kids Clubs and Childcare

Winter child care and children’s activities are focused on fun, adventure and enjoyment. Children as young as 2,5 years of age can enjoy learning to ski in small groups with professional children’s instructors to guide them.

Each ski school offers their own brand of fun with an iconic mascot to help entertain and bring smiles to their young fans. Registration ages vary according to area and school.


St Michael and Mauterndorf Ski Centres

Smarty Sports offers a variety of children’s activities and courses. Registration for courses can be made at the Smarty offices wither in St Michael town centre, at the foot of the Sonnenbahn or in Mauterndorf ski centre at the base of the Grosseckbahn.

Smarty Mini Club caters for kids from 2,5 to 4 years of age. With a maximum of 5 children in a group, kids can benefit from professional instruction combined with action and fun in the snow with plenty of pause time in between.

Children from 4 years of age and over can enjoy learning to ski with the fun snow activities and games provided at Smarty Land. With locations at the top of the Sonnenbahn cable car on Speiereck and also next to the Grosseckbahn cable car in the Mauterndorf Ski Centre, Smarty Land is fitted with a magic carpet, kids carousel, bouncy castle, an igloo and more exciting activities and equipment designed to make snow sports enjoyable for your kids.

With the convenient service provided by the Smarty Taxi you can request for your children to be picked up and taken to their lessons, then returned safely to you afterwards.

Smarty Alm

Children who are too young for skiing activities can enjoy a day at the Smarty Alm, located at the Ski Centre Mauterndorf.

The 200m²indoor area is the largest of it’s kind in the Salzburg Apps and is fitted with modern child care equipment including a two tier climbing castle, a play wall, drawing corners, a cinema and a disco.

The professional nursery-trained carers can also oversee outdoor fun activities such as building a snowman, sledging and sliding. The Smarty Alm is open from 9am til 5pm, excluding Saturdays. Registration only at the Smarty Ski School office in Mauterndorf Ski Centre.

Sankt Margarethen at the Aineck Lift Station

Firn Sepp Alpin School can be found near to the lift station at the bottom of Aineck in St. Margarethen.

They offer taster courses for young kids with a wonderful children’s practice area at the foot of the slopes filled with games and activities, a magic carpet, a kids carousel and further apparatus to help encourage kids to ski.

Katschberg

Otto’s Ski school can be found right in the centre of Katschberg and offers a Bambini course for kids from 3 years of age.

Cared for by professional children’s instructors, the kids receive special attention in groups no larger than 6.

In the dedicated Bambini arena, the children can enjoy a variety of equipment, attractions and surprises to help make skiing fun. There are opportunities for parents to participate and experience their kids progress first hand. Lessons can be booked by the day, 3 days or for a week.

Registration can be made online or at the office in Katschberg.
